Anybody else a big fan of Bertrand Russell? What's your favorite book by Russell? I liked "Human Knowledge: Its Scope and Limits," "Has Man a Future?", "In Praise of Idleness", etc., etc.

Wed, February 16, 2005 - 10:19 PMThe funny logician joke (that's not quite funny). Bertrand's wife had their baby and he went to work and somebody asked him, "Is it a boy or a girl?" and he just said "yes" and walked away because of the inclusive or. *Sigh*
I've always thought that was hilarious and nobody else ever thinks it's the slightest bit funny. -

Thu, February 17, 2005 - 6:31 AMThat was totally hot of him to do. Didn't his wife also have another man's child and he was just cool with it? I heard that somewhere, but it might have been on the net, so I didn't know if it were true.
