good question. since i have to use my thinking faculties to answer this, it might not be an accurate description of what thinking is. but then again thinking isnt a thing. i guess it's only what we perceive it to be and from there conceptualize about what it is by the use of words and ideas attached to them. thinking is a funny thing. if you stop to analyze a thought and see it for what it is you realize that it is nothing more than energy. you can either see its position or its trajectory or flow but never both at the same time. sort of like when you're thinking about something and stop to see what it is your thoughts are and lose your train of thought. if you follow the train of thought you can't pinpoint one specific thought. funny thing. a better question might be: do we choose to think? or : do we choose our thoughts? and also: where do thoughts come from? and : who is thinking? what is mind? what is thought? who am i? all good questions none have specific answers. only those we decide to give them.
